| “A Moment in Time” : A Tribute to Louis "Satchmo" Armstrong The Merrimack is excited to be sponsoring this tribute to Louis Armstrong at the Capitol Center for the Arts. From New Orleans to New York and around the globe, the legacy of Louis “Satchmo” Armstrong is just as strong today as it has ever been. For over fifty years, “Satchmo” personified the great American jazz art form . “Ambassador Satch” toured the world sharing his unique style and famous gravelly vocals. His hits included “Stardust,” “What A Wonderful World,” “Ain’t Misbehavin,” “Struttin’ with Some Barbeque,” and, of course, “When the Saints Go Marchin’ In”. Joining the Capitol Center Jazz Orchestra and Music Director Clayton J. Poole for this performance is jazz trumpet great Mr. Byron Stripling. Mr. Stripling has been featured with The Count Basie Orchestra and The Woody Herman Orchestra, and performed the title role in the Broadway-bound musical “Satchmo”. | Relay for Life We're excited to offer our Relay for Life quilt for raffle. The quilt was designed and hand-sewn by our very talented staff-member Lynn Brooks. The quilt is 61" X 76" and can be found on our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/TheMerrimack. We are raffling it off as a fundraiser for the Bank’s Relay For Life team. The relay event will take place from Saturday, June 9 through Sunday, June 10. A winner will be announced during that time! The quilt will be on display at our Concord area-based branches the following weeks: Bow week of 4/23 & 4/30 Main week of 5/7 & 5/14 Bus. Ctr. Week of 5/21 No. State 5/28 Integra 6/4 Quilt raffle tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5 and will be sold at each branch during the week(s) the quilt is displayed.
